When Rod first came into our lives I was a troubled preteen and I did my best to give him a hard time.  I didn’t understand how there could be another man for my mom other then my father.  Yet Rod accepted me as I was.  As I grew older I saw how much he loved my mom and how happy he made her and I decided that if my mom was happy then I was happy.  Rod could find the humor in most everything and he had a great knee slapping laugh that you couldn’t help but to laugh along with him.  Rod loved to cook, dance, travel and he knew how to enjoy a good beer, whether that was a nice Summit or just a watered down Schlitz, it didn’t matter, it was all pretty good to him.  He also enjoyed supporting the local sports teams, theater and orchestra, he was always more then willing to support a good cause.  He had 75 great years on this earth, but that just doesn’t feel like it was enough.  He will be greatly missed and always remembered as a sweet, sentimental man that loved to treat my mom like a queen.
