Arizona Day 4: Saguaro East, Callaghan Winery & Montezuma Quail

After we left the winery we wanted to check out Medera Canyon. We saw a sign that said “Madera Canyon 17 miles”. We did not realize, however, that it was 17 miles of curving, bumping dirt roads. (You can see the road below on the far right). And then when we thought we made it to Madera Canyon, we soon saw a sign that said “Madera Canyon 6 miles”! So, we never made it because it was starting to get dark. However…

We saw these guys! Montezuma Quail, which Tim says are very rare and secretive. This is not a very good photo because I was shooting through our car window. They were pretty cool!
